Bautzen im Frühling???

Dunkel und kalt war es im März. Schnee keine Seltenheit. Wie schön, dass wir unseren Kunden davon überzeugen konnten, dass wir unsere Arbeit auch genauso gut erst im Wonnemonat erledigen können. Mit einer polnischen Schneefront in der ersten Maiwoche hatten wir dabei nicht im Geringsten gerechnet.

It used to be dark and cold in March in the very East of Germany. Often the last snow of the winter came down during our week in Bautzen in the past. Fortunatelly we could convince our client that it would be no problem to do our job as well a little later in the year. We could not have foreseen the Polish snow and cold during the first week of May this year.

Wenigstens hörte der Schneespuk nach einigen Stunden wieder auf und am übernächsten Tag war es zwar noch nicht frühlingshaft warm, aber immerhin frühlingshaft sonnig. Und der unschlagbare Vorteil der späteren Jahreszeit liegt definitiv darin, dass es auch wenn wir unser provisorisches Büro erst nach 7 verlassen können, trotzdem noch wunderbar hell draußen ist, was uns endlich die Gelegenheit gab diese hübschen, liebevoll restaurierten Sträßchen, Gassen und Plätze der Stadt bei vollem Tageslicht zu erkunden.

At least it stopped snowing after a day and the sun came back after another day. The really great thing about being in this beautiful city in late spring is that it is still light outside when we are done with our work around 7 p.m.! So we took the opportunity to stroll through the alleys and have a closer look at these adorable and lovely renovated houses and places.
